Just seen on the Lexington Herald's web site that Saar has committed to UK. Sounds great to me. I'd like to see us add one final front court guy.

Does he have to sit out a year ?

He has to sit out one year unless he gets a waiver. Sometimes kids get the waiver and other times they don't … not sure how that works when they are transferring because their coach left or was fired.

If he can play this year that will be huge for this team. Hope he can get the waiver, but I won't be the least bit surprised if he is denied. After all, he is transferring to Kentucky.

Here is some information I found about coaching changes and players transferring.
UNLV players didn't get waivers last year after coaching change. Koby McEwen did not play for Marquette last year after Utah State fired its coach. Jamal Johnson from Memphis did not play for Auburn after Tubby Smith was fired. Pitt players that transferred after Stallings was fired did not play as well for their new teams. Hell, Louisville transfers were not eligible to play after Pitino mess! (Lance Thomas to Memphis) Etc.

I say UK makes sure he has a lawyer.

I'm sure all universities have their lawyers and since he has signed with UK I would believe their lawyer could represent him.

I don't know … that is why I am asking. Does the lawyer also represent all students at uk ??? If not then I would think he has to get his own lawyer.
