How about this: I own 5 acres here in western Kentucky, and mow about 3 of the five. Takes me about 4 hours with a 54" John Deere. I fact, there are two of them here. I own one, and my son that teaches GI's kids in Okinawa, left his identical one here, wanting me to use it to keep it from sitting around and having all the seals, etc., from drying up. I just finished an hour and a half shift, and I can tell you it is hot here. I'll finish it this evening after the sun gets lower. Think maybe I'm bored?

What do you mean, no basketball? I just finished four games of full-court hoops. When you can't watch, play!

At 83, it's all I can do to stay on that John Deere on this hillside. Basketball is out of the question. I did finish up today though. I do it in three shifts so I don't feel guilty about having three beers!

Swimming and Tai Chi are two very low impact activities that seniors can benefit greatly from. A third is walking.
I don't live out in the country, but if i did, I wouldn't want more than an acre or two to have to mow and would want the rest to be woods. Some people like the solitude of mowing. I consider it a mundane chore, like shaving or laundry.

Sitting in your recliner watching Fox News with a cold beer is another very low impact activity that this senior benefits greatly from.

Sitting on my recliner typing messages to my fellow TCD'ers (perhaps with a couple of drams of bourbon) is m preferred low-impact routine.

I have a mowing service who mows my one acre once a week. Don't hardly ever get tired! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
