I live in Central Illinois. I think we’ve had about 500 cases here and the 5 adjacent counties. Around 25deaths, mostly occurring in nursing homes or assisted living. Six in one nursing home alone. Much less traffic and most people wearing masks the very few times I ventured out. You can tell with a glance things are not normal.

Went to the gas station yesterday and my card would not work at the pump and was forced to go in. While there, the manager saw someone come in and said something to the effect of “why Joe, I haven’t seen you forever” and proceeded to hug him. I could tell he was shocked. There are idiots among us.

Norm, as you know my sister lives near your town of Dawson Springs. She said your town was hit particularly hard due to a revival held there and unbeknown to all the preacher had the virus. She had heard there were numerous cases in the church. My brother-in-law won’t go there and says when he is forced to go through he has his windows up and drives fast. I have no idea if this is accurate nor are they sure of the information. Hope your community is not hit as hard as they seem to think.

That is pretty much exactly right. As of last evening, Hopkins County had 101 cases but I don't know how many deaths. I personally knew two people that have died. One that attended that church, the Baptist Temple right here in our town. He was retired from Bell South and was 77. The other was in Lyon County, down on Barkley Lake near Eddyville. She and her husband were a couple of our best friends. She was a retired nurse and he is a retired army Colonel. This morning, our daughter in Tennessee is sick with vomit and high fever. We are praying for her.

Tuscaloosa is getting ready to "open back up", even though it don't seem like they ever closed in the first place...been business as usual mostly.

Tuscaloosa, of course, is the home to UA and there are tons of young folks everywhere, and damn near impossible to keep them corralled for long, so maybe it will work out...as long as they away from me they can have at it.

So far there is a little over 100 confirmed cases in Tuscaloosa County and no deaths...it ain't going to stay that way but hopefully it won't get too bad.

Norm, I will also pray for your daughter. This is nothing to trifle with!
