I worked my first BB game of the year today and thank goodness it wasn't like last years first game I worked. Last year we had several good inches of snow during the night/early morning hours and it was cold. I got no emails about the game being postponed so I went to work. When I got there about 11:00 AM I was surprised to see no snow on the field. They had it all removed early that morning.

Today was not bad. It was 32 degrees when I got there at 10:00 AM. It warmed up to close to 50 degrees by the time I left at 3:00 PM. They usually let the parking staff go about 2:00 PM(about 4-4 1/2 inning). Today 2:30 came and went and they had only posted thru 3 innings and the bottom of the third seemed to go on and on before I heard them announce "swcore after 3 innings is Appalacian State - 4, UK - 13. We had scored 10 runs in the third. There was wild pitches, hit batters, walks and a change of pitchers. I sort of felt sorry for them. Maybe I shouldn't feel sorry. I don't know what the final score was!!!

Bama do you get paid for this gig or is it like ur football one when u get to see the game with no money?

I wouldn't be doing it out of the kindness of my heart! I get paid the same, $10.00 @ hour for all the sports events I work. Men's Basketball is a completely different group and you pay $50.00 a year to work them and they give you a few freebies. I don't always get to see all the sports, like Baseball. I was out front where the reserved parking is Saturday and again next Friday. But at the end of March I have an usher spot on the right field side where I can watch it all.

Me too M ham I would like Bama's arrangement also. Now if Handy could talk Call into letting me use his plane fm FL and back it would be a great gig [Smile]
