Devin isn't the best defender but he is far from the worst and will do just fine as a defender in the NBA.

Ed Isaacson is not sure why Devin Booker is considered a poor defensive player. Like Lyles and Cauley-Stein, he’s projected as a lottery pick Thursday night.

“Every team needs shooting and he adds versatility to any offense,” Isaacson, a NBA draft analyst, said. “I don’t know where the impression got started that he was a great shooter but a poor defender. He is a good defender.

“The way Calipari sort of structured the defense he allowed guys to go pressure ball as much as they could, which is not always a great thing when you are young because you get beat. But because he got beat on defense does not mean that he does not have defensive skills. He moves his feet well, positions well, does all thing you want a defender to do. Once he gets in system, he will be just fine on both ends of the floor.”
