That is saying a lot about Ryan as Peyton is as good as any quarterback can get.
Former Kentucky tight end Jacob Tamme has had chances now to work out with Atlanta quarterback Matt Ryan. However, it’s an adjustment not being with Peyton Manning any longer now that Tamme has left Denver to play for Atlanta.
“I have been with Peyton quite a while. I am still figuring things out a little bit. Being with guy like matt makes the move as smooth as it can be because he is a top-notch quarterback as well,” Tamme said. “For me, the relationship I developed with Peyton over the last few years was really great. It was so much fun to be his teammate. One of the hardest things for me about the transition is not being his teammate any longer. I enjoyed the way he played the game and approached games. We became pretty close.
“But I can tell Matt has a lot of the same qualities as Peyton. He knows how to lead. He throws the football extremely well. More than anything, he has that leadership part and presence of a winning quarterback. Guys need to see that in the meeting room, on the field. He has that.”
