Avery Williamson always admired the way Wesley Woodyard played linebacker when Woodyard led Kentucky, and the Southeastern Conference, in tackles. Now they are going to be teammates with the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans selected the Kentucky inside linebacker in the fifth round of the NFL Draft on Saturday. He was the 151st pick overall.

The 6-foot-1, 246-pound Williamson played for Milan (Tenn.) High School. He was a second-team All-SEC selection after posting a team-high 102 tackles, the fourth-highest total in the conference, last season along with four tackles for loss, three quarterback hurries and two fumble recoveries. He also led the team in tackles in 2012 when he made 135 stops. He also had four quarterback sacks the last two years. He had at least six tackles in every game he started at UK except one.

The only reason he was not drafted higher is that some question his speed to stay with NFL backs and tight ends. But Woodyard, who signed with the Titans as a free agent after becoming a starter in Denver even though he went undrafted, had to prove the same things and more than did that.

Williamson, though, was just happy to be drafted.
