I see no reason why we can't win these final 6 games. We play GA Vandy and FL at home. GA should be a double digit win if we can find the bottom of the basket. We should be looking for a pay back against Vandy and FL in the other two home games. It comes down to playing good defense and making our shots. If we fall in 2 of these three games you might as well chalk up the season to too many injuries to key people.
Going to AU, SC and A&M I think we should be favored as the visiting team but again they are no slouches and any of the three could beat us if we don't come to play our best game.
If we finish 23-8 for the season we should probably get aseed in the tourney about 5 or 6. Maybe we can put it all together and make a good showing.

We've got to quit falling behind by double digits. We played good enough to beat Florida. I'm thinking 5-1 the rest of the way. Tex A&M away will be tough.

Unfortunately, I'm not as confident as you guys. We should beat UGA, SC, and Texas AM; but I feel the other games are. very losable. We should beat Auburn, but that can be a tough road game. I think Fla. is just better than us, and I think we should beat Vandy, but they are a good team and well coached. I think realistically I am thinking we go 3-3, maybe 4-2. I just don't know what team is going to show up and if we will be ready at the jump ball.
I feel every game will really come down to our 1st half, turnovers, and can we make 2 foot shots. If we keep starting slow and miss all the bunnies we're done. We need BG to give good minutes or Moreno to stay out of foul trouble.

With eleven minutes to go Georgia is dominating. This is Embarrassing. Pope had no game plan tonight. We won't win another game playing like this.

Well, I'll change my 3-3 to 2-4 or 1-5. This team is one of my least favorites. Inconsistent effort, can't make FTs, and terrible with the ball. No leadership on this team at all. Effort was bad tonight. Rebounding is effort and we shoukd have outrebounded them. Pope needs to run their butts until they throw up, not talk about this journey, how hard it is, and how they all feel.

Yeah with 5 games to go it's flip a coin time. I f they play well they might win another game and then they may lose all 5 of them. It's now time to label this bunch and as far as I'm conerned they are "The Unpredictables" Never kmow if and who will show up. And to think we may have all but 2 of these guys back next year. Hope we get all 3 of our injured ones back for sure. I only watched about 7-8 minutes of the second half and deleted the game from my recorder.

Last game that i watched from start to finish was the Missouri game. Then I watched the 1st half against UT at Rupp and turned it off, then watched the 2nd half against Florida and that has been it.
Glad I gave up early in the year. Said after the Missouri game that UK should throw the kitchen sink at Dusty May after the season. I still think they should.
I was hoping Pope would be the answer but he is not. His biggest downfall is his assistant coaches in my opinion. I knew it was not a good sign when Mark Fox was his top assistant. That is a guy who was a failure as a head coach consistently. That is not who you want as your second in charge and it shows.
Looks like UK has quickly become an IU….an irrelevant team on the National stage. Sad. [ 02-23-2026, 10:37 PM: Message edited by: Trey Ball ]
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

Sad, indeed.
Pope is starting the blame game, instead of making the decisive changes that need to be made.
New assistant coaches? Why not? New roster-building philosophy? Why not? More coaching and less "counseling"? Why not?
Yes, it can get worse. But if it does, time to say goodbye to Mr. Pope. But, if he can make some changes and things improve (and I mean, "UK-worthy" improvements), then maybe Mr. Pope can grow into this job after all.

I didn't think teams had a roster building philosophy anymore. Unless it's how to raise more money to buy players

When they created a way for the BBN to join a group and make a monthly contribution to build the NIL fund that topped it all.

I feel certain that pope will be a huge success- as a Sunday school teacher but not as the UK Basketball coach. [ 02-23-2026, 01:01 PM: Message edited by: handycat ]
