I know, wrong forum, but this group needs noticed. They are currently #3 in the country, and just went to Texas, #2 in the country, and beat them 3-0 on their home floor. This team is 18-2, 11-0 in the SEC. Their only losses were to #1 Nebraska, the powerhouse of women's volleyball, on august 31 3-2, on a neutral court. They also lost to Pittsburgh, then #7 and now #4, 3-0, also on a neutral floor. Kentucky has for years had a team that was just on the edge of becoming elite and maybe this is their year. There are several top opponents ahead considering the talent in the SEC and I feel this team deserves notice.

I've been following the volleyball team for years. We are a powerhouse. I think we have won 8 SEC championships in a row. Plus they won a national championship 5 years ago. I wanted to watch the game but didn't see if it was on TV.

I saw the loss to Pittsburg... very disappointing. But we have a great team. I think we stole our coach from Nebraska several years back, and he has built a real national-level program.
I like watching them play. And it only has a little to do with those skin-tight short-things they wear.

I found the 4th set tonight vs Tennessee, before a sold out Memorial Coliseum. UK lost the 1st set then took the next 3 for the win. UT is no slouch but our Wildcats took care of business, and from mwhat I saw, convincingly. Good to see our teams doing well, and it is great to see the support from fans and students.

I'll bring this back to the top. This UK Women's Volleyball team is in to the regional finals. They defeated the Cal Poly team, this tournaments Cinderella and very qualified and talented team, in straight sets by a score of 18, 19, & 7. They are in to the regional final, to be played at Historic Memorial Coliseum on Saturday against Creighton, the #3 seed in the region.
I did see some of the match and this UK team is on par with any team in the country. A victory Saturday takes them to the National Title semifinal game to be held in Kansas City on December 18 and the finals on the 21.
Good luck to our Women's Volleyball Team.

They are on a collision course to meet undefeated Nebraska in the National Title game. UK had them down 2-0 to begin the season and Nebraska won the next 3 sets to take the win. I actually think during the regular season those were the only sets that Nebraska even lost according to a high school volleyball coach I know. I did not confirm that however.
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

Kentucky up 2 sets to none on Creighton.I've been able to watch much of this match and it is one of those matches where it looks like Kentucky has extra players on the court.
I see UK on defense having spacing, they are getting balls all over the court. They are blocking the net, setting their hittewrs off of digd, and the defense is just really making it simple for the offense.
To me the key is they have no fear of just getting the ball over the net, letting Creighton have another go at it, then just taking over on offense and scoring.
3rd set about to start on ESPN2. tune in and watch this great Women's Vollyball Team as they push towards the Final Four.

Our Women's team just defeated what this uneducated fan calls a very good Creighton Women's team. The announcers kept urging the highly skilled Creighton players to produce only to follow with how difficult the UK team kept making it for them. They seemed amazed that due to the skill of Creighton's players possessed that they could do no more.
To my untrained eye, to put it simple, Credighton as a team just is not in Kentucky's league. Not a snub on their accomplishments this season, regional final is nothing to dismiss, but UK had an answer for every attack.
The upside to this is, I have seen many matches this season, and this is the rule rather than the exception.

I have to add one other thing. Memorial Coliseum was jam packed and rocking to it's foundation. Fan support from the BBN is top tier for these Women.

I didn't get to watch the match today. I've watched a lot this year. I hope we get a rematch with Nebraska. We had them beat the first time we played them but just got beat.

Wisconsin up 2 sets to one. Win out or go home for our Cats. They are playing ugly and staying in the sets but Wisconsin is looking real smooth.

Tied at 2 sets each. This is some stuff. I do hope someone else is watching this. Kentucky is not playing real well but they are fighting through it. Wisconsin is the team tonight that looks like they have the extra player. They have a couple of players that are just monster on the court. Kentucky is still in it though.

Kentucky to the final on Sunday.
They lost the first set 25-12, Wisconsin scored on every Kentucky serve.
Second set was ugly for UK but they pulled it out. sort of the script for the rest of the match.
This is one of those athletic events where if you didn't know the score but watched 10 minutes here, 15 there, looked in ever so often you would have picked the wrong team as the winner. Wisconsin looked together and organized, while UK was always scrambling and scratching for points.
Congrats to our Women's Volleyball team making the finals, 3:30, Sunday afternoon. All SEC final against a good looking Texas A & M Women's team.

I was one of those that would look in on the match and I felt there was no way that KY was going to pull out a victory from the Jaws of defeat!
Way to prove me wrong ladies!

This is so exciting. The grit and determination, plus the refuse to lose attitude. Wisconsin had to feel like they had the match won a few times. Tex A&M looked really good. Should be a good final.

It's a shame it ended like that but the A & M tram looked really tough on Thursday night. Heck of a season any way you look at it.
