quote:
The NBA announced Tuesday morning the list of 106 players who have filed as early entry candidates for the 2025 NBA Draft. Rising senior guard Otega Oweh and rising junior guard Jaland Lowe were both named. We knew that Oweh was going through the draft process, but Lowe (who recently transferred from Pitt to UK) also doing the same has flown under the radar a bit.

I believe both of them will be back.

I posted this in another thread earlier but applies here as well.
Apparently the number of NBA early entrants is the lowest in a long time.
Perhaps that is the one benefit of NIL?
I'm not sure that weighs the negative aspects of it.
I just wish they would also limit transfers to one per collegiate career. More than that you sit out a year.
Just my $.02

I've said the same thing. The only exception would be is if the coach left A player would get a second transfer.

Though I agree in theory with the transfer limit, the question is who has the authority to set this limit. We are where we are because these kids sued for their rights and won. I am pretty sure that any transfer limits put in place would be challenged in the courts and overturned as an "employee" cannot be prevented from seeking a better position somewhere else.
I think the only option here is contracts with buyout clauses.

If I leave my job I have a no compete clause were I work. I can not work for a competitor company for two years if I leave my present employer.
All this transferring is getting ridiculous. Make the players adhere to this no compete.

I like the two year contract idea, especially if they have transferred once befoe.
I'd waive that if there is a head coaching change.

Multiple sources reporting that Oweh is returning to UK. So many fake sites out there so I'll put off links for now. Some of them are full of pop up ads, I won't do that to you guys.
