Two teams looking to put disastrous 2020-21 basketball seasons behind them will meet on the court Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden, the scene of the latest Kentucky-Duke battle. It will be the final season opener for Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski, who will retire next year, and — unless the Cats and Blue Devils meet in the NCAA Tournament — this will also be the final time UK faces Coach K, who is 6-2 against Kentucky as Duke’s head coach. Both teams missed March Madness in 2021, but both have reloaded, and Final Four aspirations for 2022 appear to be realistic once again going into this season.

I did the math totals of 25 sports people who have made their predictions in this article. When the final score predictions are all added up and divided by 25 the average score comes out Duke 77/UK 76. The players mentioned in these predictions are Banchero and Williams for Duke and Washington, wheeler, Grady and Mintz. They have the inside edge and we have the outside edge. I also think the score for this game will be close to the 77-76 average they are predicting. Not very worried about losing this game because I can still recall what happened when we lost the tourney game to UCLA in Woodens last game. We probably won't like the officiating very much either.

You can take it to the bank on the officiating! We will not get many of the 50-50 calls.

Yeah, I just told my wife that it wouldn't shock me to see Duke playing in the final four this year, because short of committing murder, Stripes will swallow their whistle when it comes to Duke violations!

It happened just like many of us thought on t number of free throws:
Cats shot "7" free throws making 6 of them....
Duke shot "23" free throws making 16 of them...

That's a 10 point differential and they only won by 8!

We didn't shoot foul shots because we were too busy turning the ball over or taking stupid shots.

Well, Wheeler committed over half of the turnovers 97 of the 13 total) so as a team we didn't do that bad. Grant it 13 turnovers is a few too many but when you try to play at a fast pace you're more apt to turn the ball over.

We'll be alright except for not having a good replacement for TShiebwe when he goes to the bench with fouls, which he will probably do numerous times. We should do alright in the next 11 games except for a couple which could be a tough win.
