Two very good basketball games last night in the PK80 tournament in Portland. Florida had Duke beat, up by 14 pts with 9 minutes to go and folded down the stretch. No doubt Duke has the top player in all of college basketball on their roster in Bagley, 30 pts and 15 rebounds again. Michigan State beat a rather weak UNC team by 18 points. It would have been the perfect night had Florida beat Duke with UNC losing to Michigan State. Oh well.

That sucks about Florida blowing a big lead. I wanted to watch that game but I doubt it came on before 11:00 pm. ESPN is so stupid to have games that late. Do people on the left coast really care about Dook versus Florida? That is an east coast game that probably had few east coast viewers, percentage-wise.

Woke up and watched the Dook comeback (ugh) after Gators up 15 or so in second half. During comeback run with about 1 1/2 minutes left Dook is not called for a charge (even Bilas says it was) and goes to line to cut lead to 1. Then it's curtains for Florida. Much as I hate to say it, Dook is very, very good.

Duke are good but that call you referred to was huge at the time Jersey. It could have made the difference in Florida holding on for the win and losing. Duke will lose their entire starting five at the end of this season even though 4 of them are only freshman. They definitely got the best of the freshman class for this year. Allen is finally a senior so no more having to look at that punk. They will be very hard to beat. Texas A&M may have the inside players to contain Bagley, they are very good also. Paul, the game ended between one and one thirty this morning. That is why we rarely know much about those left coast teams, their games are too late for us here on the east coast.

That can't be correct. I could have swore that somebody posted an article declaring Florida to be the King of the SEC this season.

Some are trying to build the SEC up this year so we can get 6 or 7 teams in the NCAA tourney. I doubt it happens. We could get 4 in and an outside chance of 5 teams. These teams don't have me worried just yet. I still say we lose 3 games in conference.

The SEC teams other that our UK are going out and playing tougher schedules and building up good resume wins. Georgia is also a pretty good team, I have seen them play twice. Tenn is capable of beating anyone and of course Bama, Ky, Fla and Texas A&M are all ranked and should be, they have earned their way to the top. For the SEC to have three teams ranked in the top ten is just awesome to me, I hope they can contain that for the entire season. I would love to see us getting 7 or 8 teams in the big dance in March and do feel that with the new scheduling and new talent in our conference, we will probably lose some games this season our fans are not expecting. Arkansas is another good team I have seen play three times. There are at least 7 quality teams that I have seen already play at least twice from our conference.

I personally get tired of the ESPN guru's building up the Big East. They have ranked teams in Villanove, Xavier, Butler and Seton Hall. I think our conference is actually better than the big east this year and I have seen the ranked big east teams play at least once.

I definitely wouldn't sleep on Alabama. Sexton is gonna tear up college basketball this year. He's fun to watch. They almost beat little Ricky's team with only three players!
