I was in the Dr's waiting room reading the November copy of S.I. when a "page fell out". It was the preseason poll of the top 16. Here is how it compares to todays AP poll.
Preseason/ Today
#1 Duke #17 #2 Kansas #1 #3 Kentucky #9 #4 Oregon #6 #5 Villanova #2 #6 N Carolina #5 #7 Virginia #23 #8 Wisconsin #22 #9 Gonzaga #4 #10 Arizona #7 #11 Purdue #16 #12 Xavier # not ranked #13 Louisville #8 #14 Indiana # not ranked #15 Syracuse # not ranked #16 UCLA # 3
I'm not sure if this is interesting or simply proves I really don't have a live. [ 02-27-2017, 04:47 PM: Message edited by: handycat ]

Well, if the latter is the case, I don't have a life either, because I found it interesting.

Me too. I noticed that only 8 teams are within 5 places of where they were forecasted to be.

Agree, if those things happen. If they have a bad game, or maybe two they could drop to a 3 or even a 4 seed. Hope they can win out and get a good draw.

Based upon the season thus far, I would say we are a three seed, trying to avoid falling to a four seed.

I would say we are a three seed trying to avoid climbing to a two!

Joe Lunardi has UK as a two seed as of now...if they do well in the SEC tournament that is what I excpect.

Actually, I heard Lunardi say that if Kentucky wins the SEC tourny, a #1 seed is not out of the question. I doubt it, but it was interesting to hear him say that.

I think we are a solid 2 seed as of right now. All the teams above us that would be 2 seeds such as U of L etal have lost games this week which improves our chances to be or stay on line 2. U of L now have 7 losses which will certainly drop them off line 2 in my opinion. If we win the A&M game Saturday and the SEC tournament, we could be a high 2 seed depending on what happens in the other conference tournaments.
