According to Chad Ford's mock draft, Bam has not dropped out of the first round of the NBA upcoming draft. He does still have a lot to learn about playing college ball but I feel he will still be a first round draft pick based on his athleticism and size.
From ksr: quote:
NR: Bam Adebayo Once a consensus lottery pick, Adebayo has slowly fallen down mock draft boards. Draft Express currently has Bam as the 20th best prospect, but Ford doesn’t even have him in his first round. These are all of the college basketball power forwards and centers Ford ranked ahead of Adebayo: Lauri Markkanen, Arizona Justin Patton, Creighton T.J. Leaf, UCLA Robert Williams, Texas A&M Jarrett Allen, Texas Ivan Rabb, Cal John Collins, Wake Forest Zach Collins, Gonzaga Ike Anigbogu, UCLA Ford’s version is different than other mock drafts because he accounts for a team’s need, assuming lottery positioning based off the odds. Still, Ford provides proof that Adebayo hasn’t done himself any favors in the second half of his freshman season. quote:

I watch pretty much college basketball on TV and I've seen at least twenty low-post guys i'd pick over Bam. I don't see him going first round unless he really turns things around.

He's definitely A player who needs to play another year of college basketball. If he goes this year, he'll IMO end up in the D league.

if he ends up going it will be solely on potential which the NBA drafts quite a bit on these days. He really has no back to the basket game at all for a power big man. He can either dunk it, brick it or gets it striped. he has quite a bit more to learn in my opinion but you can not teach size, strength and speed.

The interesting thing in all of this is if Cal will push him out to make room for the new guys coming in. That is what I don't like about this system. If it turns out a guy needs more than one year, we often need him to go to make room for the new guys. We have these other guys coming in that are expecting to get to play right away, and then get to the league. I hate it, but it is what it is. The one we really could use staying is Fox, but he will be gone. I would love to see him have another year as a point guard. He would be a monster once he developed an outside shot, and just continued to learn how to run a team.

I do believe we need to have a few people stay more than a year to make us a well balanced team but I also think Cal needs to play them or whoever is playing the best. I always questioned why Booker was ever on the bench as he was the best 2 guard we had that year. Same thing with KAT. To be honest I see Briscoe coming back and being a 4 year player. I just don't see him ever making it to the pros. He is having trouble with his shot still, while it is better. Also he is not a point guard in college much less at the pro level and every time he gets inside without a clear lane he gets blocked. Unfortunately for him I see his playing time going down next year if he stays. I for one thought that losing Matthew to Michigan hurt us. He would have been a great 3-4 year player to have in the stable for us. Multi year players are needed in my opinion. Without Willis we would be in trouble this year and last year he was a huge help as well.

Bam needs to stay and learn how to play organized basketball, and learn some post up moves because he has none. Oh and by the way, maybe, just maybe spend some time on the free throw line. He's a liability late in games. But he'll leave, get drafted in the mid to late first round by some stupid team and make his millions
