Personally I think Cal will be at Kentucky to he retires.
Former Nets general manager Rod Thorn had played a part in hiring King upon Thorn's departure from the Nets in 2010, but Thorn had resigned his position. He wasn't forced out.
One of the major influences in the search process promises to be Nets CEO Brett Yormark, who has remained an immense ally of Kentucky coach John Calipari since Calipari's late 1990s tenure as Nets president and coach. Yormark has remained a proponent of making a lucrative offer to bring Calipari back to the Nets in a dual president and coaching role, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
King was reassigned and coach Lionel Hollins was fired on Sunday.

Read a story that Cals asking for 10 years, 120 million. I can't see him turning it down if they offer such a wild amount. In the realm of professional sports, why any GM would offer a coach a deal longer than 4 or 5 years boggles the mind.

Here is a new story:
When it comes to college basketball, it’s hard to argue any coach is worth more than Kentucky’s John Calipari. But when it comes to the NBA, his track record hardly screams “Phil Jackson money!”
But according to a report by Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski early Monday, that’s exactly what Calipari wants in order to leave Kentucky’s bluegrass for the NBA’s green pastures. And the team wanting him most may be the one with whom he notoriously flamed out.
According to Wojnarowski:
“For Calipari to consider the Nets -- and, yes, the Sacramento Kings, too -- league sources tell Yahoo Sports that the teams have been informed of his asking price: 10 years, $120 million.”
Calipari quickly threw water on the story later Monday:
According to the story, Brooklyn CEO Brett Yormark is “pushing” Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov -- who early Sunday fired head coach Lionel Hollins and reassigned general manager Billy King -- to bring back Calipari nearly 20 years after the then-New Jersey Nets took a shot on the then-37-year-old with a five-year, $15 million contract that netted 72 wins, 112 losses and a sweep out of the playoffs in two-plus seasons.
