Dominique Hawkins had to be carried off the court by his teammates after suffering what appeared to be a very serious injury. Hawkins went down holding his left ankle and was in very serious pain, but the injury isn’t as severe as it seemed, according to Calipari.

“He hurt his ankle. They said he’s going to be fine,” Coach Cal said. “I didn’t see it, they told me it looked ugly, but he is such a tough kid.”

With the treatments and training they have today, he'll be back on his feet in no time!

If Cal isn't worried it isn't serious.

Cal knows they have the best training staff money can buy, that's why he isn't worried!

That is good news! Hawkins is a valuable part of this team.

He's really starting to play with confidence.

We will need him back as he is getting better by the game.

He has a 2-1 assist to turn-over ratio and good replacement for Ulis.

I don't know if I'll go so far as to say he's a good replacement for Ulis. He's good enough to give Tyler a little blow!

That's why he is a good replacement for Ulis, he gives him time to rest.

I think Briscoe actually took the point when Ulis went out. I may have to watch again to see for sure!

Briscoe is a player that can play different position which really helps this team.

Briscoe needs to work on his outside shot, but other than that we don't lose anything when he's on the floor. HE's not much of a scoring threat though if I'm an opposing coach!

Briscoe shoots 47% from the field but his 3 point shooting is not so hot (4-19).

...and his free throw shooting is miserable!

He shoots 38% from the line (17-44). Not Good!

Briscoe averages over 5 boards a game, 3 assists and has 19 steals which is second on the team.

A guard that is known for his penetration style, and reverse layups NEEDS to improve his freethrow shooting!

In close games near the end it's hard to even keep him in the game. He has to improve his free throw shooting.

Before yesterday's game, Murray was leading the Cats in 3pt % at .390!

I can't see having Briscoe or Lee in the game late if the game is close!

Briscoe at 38% and Lee at 42% free throw shooters are a huge risk to be in the game at crunch time.

Matthews isn't much better at 47% but he hasn't attempted nearly the free throws the other two have either!

We shoot 31% from the 3 point line as a team and Ulis and Murray take 64% of all our 3 point shots.

I doubt if Matthews would ever be in the end of a close game.

The only way Matthews would be in a close game is if it was for defensive purposes and we needed a steal.

Or foul trouble which we haven't seen much of with our guards so far this season.

We have a bevy of good guards and Cal replaces them if they even begin to get in foul trouble.
