Sorry offensive glass sorry shot selection, this isn't going to get it done, I don't see a championship team here, not yet. Ga was down their best player, this should've been a run away. WCS better stay another year...I dont see NBA there. 22-0 Im not that impressed. Im saying, they better step it up. They have nokiller instinct and against top notch competition this ain't going to get it done...

Willie has been the team leader until about three or four games ago when he just sort of quit playing. His shot blocking is not scaring anyone anymore, they go right at him now. His lack of rebounding and defense is just not what it was and it makes one wonder what has happened to him. For us to be successful, we need to get that energetic Willie back, the one that gets steals, blocks shots and gets put back dunks. We were out rebounded by 15 tonight, totally uncalled for because we were so much bigger than Georgia. I noticed no one seems to go after offensive rebounds anymore, normally only one person near the basket for us when a shot goes up. I don't know what has happened but if this team tonight shows up at Florida Saturday night, they will get their first loss.

Mike Pratt and Tom Leach are talking about how we have quit getting offensive rebounds the last few weeks and are also wondering what has happened to us as a team. We still play together, maybe it's the pressure of the winning streak. When we went up by 18 early in the second half, the game should have been over but they fooled around and let a decimated Georgia team come back and make a game of it. For Georgia to do what they did without their leading rebounder and scorer is remarkable. A good win but not a very pretty one.

The thing is, they always seem to play a lot better against the better competition. They almost always play down to the competition. Look who the blow-outs have been against; Kansas, UNC, UClA, etc.

SCWC, I agree on everything you said. I feel the same about WCS,looks like the league has his number. He is zero offensive threat. Lotsof standing around by the bigs. For a team with 3 6-10 plus guys there getting worse at dominant inside presences. Better step it up. I watched Virginia last night and those boys arepphysical...

Our team do not like physical play inside and that is what we are seeing from everyone. Belly up on Kentucky and you can neutralize their bigs is what I am seeing, and it is really working. I hope Willie is ok, he has had such energy all season long but seems to have just lost it lately and like Norm said, maybe it is boredom, I don't know. Willie still has his athleticism etc but he is not playing defense or blocking shots like he was and he is such a major part of this team's success. We need our Willie back before Saturday night in Gainesville.

I was listening on the radio and Mike Pratt said coach was really upset with all but Towns for the effort they were giving tonight on defense and rebounding. One little guard took Willie off the dribble and made the basket, something I have not seen this season. Lee and Willie played less defense than anyone tonight. I must be honest, I saw little contact on some of the fouls they called on us, the zebra's are ruining SEC basketball with their whistles.

Getting out rebounded by 12 against this team is rediculous. No excuse, lazy BBL. Better pick it up...fast

I guess I'm just going to have to disagree. Other than a couple of our bigs being lazy on defense and a bad game by Dakari I thought it was a solid effort. Very good ball movement, low turnovers...just missed some shots a key times in the second half.

The team is 22-0 and just beat a good UGA team by double digits, what they're doing seems to be working...it kills me to see complaints after what has happened this season. I hope they keep up the good work.

btw Lunardi has 6 SEC teams in the tournament...they apparently aren't as terrible as the ACC lover's and UK haters think.

I didn't think we took bad shots necessarily, Booker missed 6 of his 10 attempts. I think every Booker shot is going in.

Aaron only took 4 shots tonight. HE really didn't force the issue. It wasn't falling for him but still I thought 2 of his three pointers were going to go down!

I thought they played very good on the offensive end. I will take 10 open threes for Booker and Aaron Harrison all day long. Most nights they are hitting 5 or 6 of those not 1. That is another 15 points on the board.

Andrew also had three shots that were 3/4 of the way down and popped out somehow.

Very good strategy of UGA to spread the floor and isolate the drive to eliminate help side defense. When help side was there, they kicked the ball back out for jumpers instead of challenging the shot blockers. That is how you have to play UK. Good job by UGA.

Only weakness I saw was rebounding and that was due to lack of toughness. I can't remember how many times WCS or KAT or Dakari had the ball on the hand to only eventually lose it to a UGA player. That has been a problem all year. They need to clean that up.

Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

WHY EVEN SHOOT THAT MANY THREES? TAKE THE BALL DOWN LOW, DONT WORRY ABOUT FOULING, TAKE IT STRONG TO THE BASKET. BOOKER BY FAR IS THE BEST BASKETBALL PLAYER ON THIS TEAM. JMO THEY BETTER NOT BE BORED SATURDAY, AND I STICK TO MY PREDICTION, LSU WILL GET US AT THEIR PLACE, UNLESS, NOW UNLESS WE PICK IT UP ALOT, GETTING OUT REBOUNDED LIKE WE ARE WILL GET US BEAT.

Because you have one Great Shooter in Booker and another above average shooter in Aaron Harrison (great 3 Point Shooter in Rupp hitting over 55%). Those are great looks that they normally knock down. I have zero problem with those shots, since they all came within context of the offense (one three by Booker may have been forced). The three point shot opens up the middle for KAT and the other bigs.

UK's best offensive players are their guards not their bigs. KAT is developing into a throw it in the post option like a Julius Randle, but he is not there yet.

Agree Trey - if shots come within the context of the offense that is exactly what coaches want to see. All good shots imo by very good shooters!

YOUR OFFENSE SHOULD START INSIDE OUT , WE HAVE BIG GUYS INSIDE, GO INSIDE, AND KICK IT BACK IF YOU HAVE TO. GIVE ME A 5 FT SHOT OVER A 23 FT, SHOT ANYDAY. IMO ULIS IS A BETTER SHOOTER THAN AARON.

I take some comfort in what Norm pointed out. We play much better (a) against "name" opponents, and (b) on the road or on a neutral court.

Not sure why (b) is true, but other than the beat-down of Missouri, we generally don't have our best games in Rupp.

Why do I take comfort in that? That means we should be our best in the tournament. All of this is mere prelude.

While I think in theory our offense should be inside-out, in reality our bigs are not much of a threat to score from the block. Their primary effectiveness is the backdoor or weakside run to the lob, or offensive putback. Once a player puts a body on our bigs, they are almost completely neutralized. The exceptions are Towns (sometimes) and Lyles. Willie and Dakari operating from the block are turnovers or blocks waiting to happen.

If your bigs can't score in the paint, then there is no need to double-down when we throw it in. Thus, there are no open shooters. The whole concept of the inside-out game is to draw the double in the post and free up a shooter.

Until we develop a proven low-post scoring option, we are going to be a perimeter team.

Agreed, they have to live by the 3 right now, no one respects the inside game of Willie or Dakari. KAT made some darn good shots last nite, maybe we'll start seeing more from him...

KAT has showed improvement last game and if he keeps improving it will help. I just haven't seen WCS or Dakari making any strides at all and even a bit of a down turn. They look to be afraid to make a mistake and that is not the way to get better.

To think our leading scorer on the season, just under 12 points a game, and our best shooter, shooting just over 50% from the floor, yet we still won by double digits last night!

It's hard to have a scorer average a lot of points with the platoon system. The playing time is split up to the point that some of ours scorers are getting only 22-26 minutes. It's also hard to get a good sweat up and then head to the bench and have to start over. The platoon has it's good side but it also has it's bad side.

Our bigs cant score a layup to save their lives because they play so soft. The energy level is about 50% of where it needs to be.
Wildtut was right, our offense looks like Tubbyball and we have no idea how to attack a 2-3 zone except to jack up 3 after 3.
The team misses Alex more than anyone wants to admit. He was the heart and sole of this team. Also notice not near as many lob dunks since his injury. I sure do miss him.

tc, your exactly right and I doubt that many Cat fan that knows basketball and they all do, knows how much Poythress is missed. He was the team leader and still is to a point and every player still looks up to him for guidance on and off the court.

Nice thing is..... We can fuss all we want about these things but the final answer is... 22-0. Which is the most important statistical number of them all!
