I have never been to Rupp Arena except once passing through Lexington in the summer. I went to Rupp with the idea I would be able to go inside and look around. However the only thing I could do was to go up many flights of stairs to this little room. In the room was this very small window that I could look to see the inside of the arena. Bummer.

Anyway to get to my question. Other teams hang all kinds of banners and I realize that we are very selective in what we hang. However I do not know exactly what is there. Can anyone tell me what is currently hanging in the rafters of Rupp?

Thank you!

I believe the only banners hanging in Rupp are Final Four banners and retired players/coach banners. One other, Cawood has a banner hanging as well with a Microphone on it I believe.

Someone that goes to more games than me can add anything that I have missed.

Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

UK Does Hang Final Four Banners in Rupp Arena
By Nation of Blue on April 4, 2011
UKAthletics.com clarifies today that the University of Kentucky actually does hang Final Four banners in Rupp Arena.

As you can see in the picture above, Final Four banners are indeed hung in Rupp Arena. Only one banner can be hung per year, meaning if the team wins the national championship, that takes the place of the Final Four banner. In UK’s practice facility at the Joe Craft Center, only championship banners are hung.

You are correct on the final four but I believe they say Runner up if they lost in the championship game and final four if they don't make the championship game. They may have as many of these as they do championship banners.

Yes, there is a banner for Bill Keightly in the rafters at Rupp, along with NCAA champion coaches, retired jerseys etc.
