From cbssportsline.com:

"We've played teams like Kentucky before," Foote said.

Yeah, they got beat by Syracuse and Kansas. Those were the only opponents that were even in the RPI top 100 during the regular season.

Keep talking guys. Our freshmen need something to keep focused on.

BCM, i would bet my life's savings that Calipari is telling them they are the best team to come down the pike in years. He will leave no stone unturned and the Cats will think they are going up against the Lakers. This is not a team to be taken lightly just like any other team we play from here on out.

I have a very good friend who is a huge Wisconsin fan and went to the Cornell-Wisconsin game Saturday and he came away saying that Wisconsin didn't play that good but Cornell is the real deal. He said that if Kentucky didn't take them seriously they would get beat. It's a team that we should beat but we better be ready.
We would never live it down if we did get beat by a team that doesn't even give out basketball scholarships...

Bottom line is: If we get beat by Cornell, then we dont deserve a shot at the national title.

I will be surprised if we dont come out focused. Game could be competitive in first half but then we blow them out in second half.

They beat Bama in bama, and played @ Srycuse and @ Kansas and the score was close...they are the real deal. They have one guy who has made 100+ 3 pointers himself! If we dont play outta site D we will get beat! The good news is we have been! GO CATS!!

My only concern is how much of the game I will get to see before they switch away to a lesser whopping of whoever by K.ST.

I get sick of reading stories like this. Everytime Kentucky gets into the ncaa and plays against an underdog, the whole non-Big Blue Nation enters into a nation wide pep rally against Kentucky. Why did i expect it to be different this time?. Nothing to fear?, yeah right, nothing to fear except losing and ending their season. By playing 90-miles from their campus at a site they already have played this season, and having 85% of the fans will give them a huge advantage. The great "equalizer" however, will be Kentucky's athleticism, quickness and overall talent. If our players execute the gameplan that Cal presents the Cats
will advance.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Kentucky will win by something like twenty point. Fear not.

WE MUST DEFEND THE 3! We do we win...its that simple.

I think the difference in this game is that Cornell won't be able to contain UK. Cornell's defense is not great. This year, including their games in the tourney, they give up 75 points per game to top 100 rpi teams.

You aren't going to stop Cornell from scoring. Temple was a very good defensive team and they had problems. Wisconsin allowed opponents to shoot 43% against them, so I wasn't suprised by that outcome. My personal feeling is that this is going to be a complete shootout. Both teams could put up better than 80, and the winning team could put up close to 100. UK is probably going to give up some points, but I can assure Cornell, they have not seen anything like these Cats.

I think the key will have more to do with forcing turnovers and rebounding.

Good point BC and i think our defense has been lights out. Bledsoe has been outstanding! I def put him on the Whittman kid.

Cornell has not faced a team yet with the combination of bulk, strength, speed, quickness, length, and overall athleticism as Kentucky. They have faced some teams with size like Wisconsin and Kansas, they have faced some athletic teams like Temple and Syracuse, but they have yet to face a team with the size and strength of Kentucky that will get up and down the floor with speed and quickness like Kentucky. The interesting part of this game will be whether or not Cornell can control the tempo against a team with the attributes that Kentucky has. If they can, it will be a close game. If they can't, it will be a Wake Forest repeat all over again.

They played a tight game with Kansas & lost by 5, Lost by 15 @ cuse and by 15 @ Penn, Lost @ home to seton hall by 15 or so. Their 2 best wins of the season happened this week. We just have to guard the 3 and we should dominate in every other facet.

Based on their schedule, they don't like the slower pace any more than UK. If Cornell plays their preferred tempo, it will play right into UK's hands. When they play a slower pace, they struggle. They barely squeaked by Princeton twice this year (2 2-point wins) because Princeton slowed the tempo. This could be a real bad matchup for Cornell. Then again, they could hit everything they throw up, and give UK a hard time. All I know is that Cornell had a hard time getting a 3-point shot off against Princeton, and I'm sure we are bigger and quicker than they are.

A little different outlook - we make 6+ three's we win going away. If we do not we win by 12 on our talent vs their talent! [Smile]

Cornell has nothing to fear. They really have nothing to lose. They've already accomplished a lot by getting into the Sweet 16. UK has much more to lose. That's part of the NCAA tournament.

Im sure Cal will have them ready, and not let happen to us that happened to Kansas. I watched that game on replay and that team just was asleep all game...I dont see that happening to us.
