If the Big East is the so called best conference in the league why are some of the best Big East top ten teams losing to the terrible bottom feeders? Louisville been playing horrible and they go to No 3rd rank Syracuse and beat them. Louisville just got throttled by St. John's. Cincinnati is not that good this year and they just knocked off UCONN by 10. Then today Rutgers beet GTown which they were ranked 8th. You have 16 teams in the Big East and I would say Villanova, Syracuse and Maybe West Virginia are very good, but the rest are average to terrible. You could say for example UK would match up with maybe Villanova. Tennessee would match up with West Virginia. Auburn would maybe match up with Providence. Florida would match up with Pitt. I'm not saying the SEC is better but I just want to point out that the Big East is a bit overrated this year.
Love to have everyone's thoughts on this.

If you look around at the
power conferences -- in particular the SEC, ACC, Big East, Big 12, Big 10, and Pac 10 -- you will see a lot of parity. There are good players and good coaches pretty much top-to-bottom, making every game competitive. That is why Georgia is playing so well, Penn State can steal a game or two, and Rutgers can rise up and smite the mighty.

Too many talented players, along with a bumper crop of good coaches = LOTS of 'upsets'.

Exactly. After all, how did we lose to USC?

I watched the UL game yesterday and I believe that if you're hitting from the outside you can take Syracuse down. They have no clue how to play man-to-man defense.

Syracuse has always lived and died by the zone.
