I think we all are still in SHOCK. Here the dreaded loserville had been poised to make a second trip to the final four under Pitino. UK had just lost in the NIT after not making the dance after eighteen straight years.
Then Michigan state takes care of business, and now comes THIS, We just hired one of the BEST ALL-AROUND Coaches in all of basketball, and he may become the best now that he is "married" to Kentucky and the big Blue Nation.
On the day GCG was hired he was asked by Cameron Mills what is it going to take to hang more banners in Rupp Arena?, Gillispie was prophetic when he answered, "Great players, great players, great players!".
Now Today we have secured possibly the BEST recruiter in basketball.
Kentucky is BACK, the days of the Kick A$$ Cats are BACK!.
Think of all the wonderful things you used to love when Pitino was on the sidelines in Rupp, as of today they ALL just RETURNED!.
I am as high as i've ever been on UK Basketball, the reality of this whole COLOSSAL HIRE and merge of Calipari and UK, is slowly dawning upon me, I am still numb. This is one amazing day in BIG BLUE NATION!.
This was not a home run folks, this was 60-home runs rolled into one!.
GO BIG BLUE! GO CATS! GO COACH CAL!

BC,
You and I can agree for once. It was a great hire. It is what the program needed after the very bad hire made two years ago. While I always tried to support Billy G, he made it very difficult for someone like me to do that when I could plainly see his deficiencies as a coach and a leader of the UK program. The way he treated Tom Leach and others turned me off of him more than his coaching to be honest and his cooaching was lousy.
-------------------- Wife's Mad. Told me we never talk anymore. And just last nite while watching super bowl told her 2 or 3 times to get me a coke and popcorn. Also told her not to forget to take out trash in the morning. Ain't that something. Also told me I was too indecisive. Can't figure out what to do about that. One nice thing I guess. She called me a pro crastinator. Don't know what a crastinator is but I guess I'm a good one for her to call me a pro. Gonna wait til tomorrow to look that up though. I love her but somrtimes can't help but thinking I should have told uncle Junior to keep his coon hound pup and stevens double barrel and also his youngest daughter.

Treyball, Only my "blind" devotion to UK, led me to back him as I once did. Hindsight tells me today, hearing some of the stories of player treatment, I'm GLAD he is gone. I hope his memory is buried here now like Sutton.

The stories that are coming out now about how he treated the players, how he treated Tom Leach, how he treated most of the media, all I can say is I'm glad he's somebody else's problem to deal with. He showed no respect to anyone while he was here and doesn't deserve to be here anymore. Barnhart and Todd got this one right.

I sensed BCG's deficiencies all along, but was shouted down on many occasions, and told to go root for Minnesota!
