He has a lot going for him that's for sure..
It didn't take long in last night's exhibition opener for newcomer Josh Harrelson to connect with the Big Blue fans. After smoothly stroking a few outside jumpers, fans later were applauding as soon as Harrelson jumped up off the bench to check into the game.
And this is a young man with great upside--in part, because he was a late arrival to the game.
"I played baseball my whole life and then I picked up basketball my freshman year of high school because I was like 6-3 and my high school coach said 'you’re playing basketball now'," Harrelson said. "At first, it didn’t really mean much to me, but as I progressed and just got better and kept on working, it meant more to me and kept on meaning more and more."
Harrelson says he's still learning some of the fundamental aspects of basketball and it can be frustrating being around other players who are more advanced because of more experience on the court.
