Can a program talk to and recruit a player that has not made the decision to transfer? That's Jasper's current status. So far, he is only thinking about transferring.

To read this story, he is a UNLV prospect: link

UNLV only has one scholarship left and they seem to be holding it for one of two guys who haven't even left their team.

This is WAY different from what happened with Crawford. Crawford actually went home in the middle of the semester and when he mentioned Mich St., Tom Izzo basically said, "huh?" That is something that, IMO, played a role in his returning to UK.

BCM, Maybe Jasper contacted UNLV and asked them if he left Kentucky would they have a spot for him on their team...

For sure UNLV can not initiate contact with Jasper when he still is a member of the Cats.

But how would Jasper even know to call UNLV, unless he basically called coaches in the area that interested in playing? That would lend some credence to the homesick talk.

If he leaves, I am hoping that UK asks this question as to how him and Kruger got a relationship.

I may be wrong, but I don't think they can even talk to a player who is still enrolled at another school on athletic scholarship and has not been released by his school. However, "his people" can talk to UNLV and UNLV can talk to "his people."
