In order to get the #2 Seed in the East we have to beat Florida (provided Vandy beats Alabama on Saturday). If we lose to Florida, we fall to #3 in the East which means we would have to play on Thursday against either Ole Miss or LSU. It also means playing 4 games in less than 72 hours.
Beating Florida is a Must!

Bayer, I am going to post later today about how each of our last five games of this season have been our BIGGEST games of the year.

We will go the way of Bradley and Crawford, they are on a roll and it would be hard to bet against them. Cat's in a close one..

No doubt all of the other games were important, but given our small numbers of productive players, it would be very detrimental to our team to have to play 4 games in 72 hours in the SEC tourney.
I know, I know, these are young kids who bounce back quickly. But, Ramel, Joe C and others have played a lot of minutes this conference season and any small amount of rest they can get will help them in the SEC tourney. Thus, a loss to Florida could be devastating to the entire season, particularly if we are truly still on the bubble.

Realistically, playing THREE games in three days would be taxing enough. Remember one thing, you are not guaranteed to play three in three days, ONLY if you win. I do not see us advancing past Miss State in the semis, should we go in as the #2 seed in the East, but like anything else I could be wrong.
We "Held" the number two seed vs Vanderbilt until last night. By virtue of our win against Arkansas, who had beat Vanderbilt, we held the #2 spot. But we had lost earlier to Mississippi state in Starkville. Vanderbilt needed an overtime last night to squeak out a 1-point victory against Mississippi State and thus be in posistion to gain the two seed should we fall to Florida. So that game, like the four preceeding it, has now moved front and center as our "BIGGEST" game of the season. It used to be that a team playing so many high stake games in a row would eventually hit a wall. We have played two games without PP, personally I do not see how we are doing it, other then to give all the credit to the STEAL WILL of our players and the ingenuity of our coaches to put them in posistion wo win these games.
Crawford and Bradley are obvious as TOP scorers, THIRD in the pecking order has to be Perry Stevenson. Aside from those three, you'd have to ask Jasper to shoot more and the same for Harris.
At this juncture ANYTHING we can get from A.J. Stewart is a BONUS.
We have lost SEVEN STRAIGHT to Florida/Donovan, I thought (with PP) the streak was going to finally end on sunday. It still may but the guys are going to reach down for "something" deep within themselves and make something happen that on the surface seems impossible. At times there mindset almost seems as though Coach G. has put them into some sort of "trance" they are so focussed on the game at hand. The transformation the team has shown during SEC play has been nothing short of PHENOMINAL!

I know I sound like a broken record when I say this game scares me. Its basically a playin game for the Gators. They believe they can beat us and believe that without Patterson this is winable for them. Thats what scares me...a team with confidence and purpose commin to Rupp. I hope we are able to just keep on keepin on and take care of bussiness....and send our seniors out the right way, and ride the momentum as far as we can. GO BIG BLUE

Bayer, there is a pattern with UK, it seems like they play much better as a team with less time off between games. I know they still might be a little tired if they play 4 games in 72 hours but with the emotions and "should be" a UK crowd, I like our chances.

Florida was devastated after losing last night to Tennessee, the gators had them down by sixteen points in the first half before losing.
They are now 8-7 to UK's 11-4, Florida has lost a lot of games lately. LSU also beat them in Gainesville. You can also "reverse" the same scenario for Uk that you made for UF, The game also is a "play-in" game for Kentucky as well.
Florida always has been slack defensively IMO, under Donovan. It seems like they "let you shoot" just to get the ball back. They will "trade" baskets with you in hopes that they will out shoot you.
As is always the case our DEFENSE will be crucial, especially on Calathes and Hodge.

If there are any UK haters out there that are willing to bet on the Gators, I strongly advise taking any bets available. I see UK winning by 10.
If UK plays MSU, they can beat them, if the refs call fouls on the Rebels' big man. When UK played them, the refs swallowed their whistles. Uk players had shots blocked, but were knocked to the ground in the process. I expect a different outcome on a neutral court.

I agree daddy, we were hammered not only by their big man, but by the refs eating their whistles. It should be ours to win on a neutral court.

I'll take 10 points and the Gators, the Gators might lose but it won'e be by more than 10 IMO, what you want to bet?

Cats are 4-point pick over Gators in early Panama line; O/U 148.

Sounds more like a Gator locksmith than a Cat fan to me. Heck, we can't beat anybody by 10 points as evidenced by our five point average margin of victory in-conference. Take off that Gator hat and get on board the Wildcat express!

I have a kid living next door that wears that Gator crap all the time, and rubs it in on me when they beat UK. He is a Junior in high school and has lived right next door all his life. I don't think he's ever even been to Florida! Kids!
