We may have lost Holsopple to Florida but it looks like he has been replaced with a good replacement in Todd Forcier. I like to see he has some expieriance with NBA players and i'm sure our players will too.

Billy Gillispie filled one of the vacant spots on his first University of Kentucky basketball staff today, announcing the hire of Todd Forcier as strength and conditioning coach.

Forcier has spent the past five seasons at Syracuse, where as assistant strength coach, he worked with men’s and women’s basketball.

Forcier served as the basketball strength coach at Dayton for four years. In 1997-98, he was the assistant strength coach at UNLV, and from 1993-96, he was assistant strength coach for the NBA’s Seattle Supersonics.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to work for Coach Gillispie and such a storied program as Kentucky basketball,” Forcier said in a statement. “I believe in what Coach Gillispie is doing here and what he can do with such unbelievable resources along with the fan support. I relish the opportunity to help the players participate in a championship environment and as well as prepare them for the next level of professional basketball.”

Forcier replaces Scott Holsopple, who spent one season at UK under former head coach Tubby Smith. In May, Holsopple was named the assistant director of strength and conditioning at Florida.

“Kentucky is fortunate to be able to attract the very best, and Todd Forcier is one of the very best in the business,” Gillispie said in a statement. “He’s proven it at the highest level. Todd has helped his players achieve a great deal while also making sure they are physically prepared for any professional opportunities they may have when they leave school. We’re excited to have him at UK.”
