Florida is a great place. Does it SURPRISE any of you that UK IS going after him?.

Unless we have all just been deluding ourselves for years we have all proudly said that UK NOT
Florida IS the #1 Basketball School in the Nation.
The fact Billy was here for FIVE years only helps in this case. He knows this program inside out.

He knows the pluses and the minuses. He also knows the same about Florida. Everything he does
he does it with all his might. He has poured his
life into making Florida what it is today. Should he take the UK job he will do the same.

Basketball will NEVER take the place of football
at Florida, that is just a fact of life. His
present team is the defending National Champion and only had one sell-out the entire season and that was in a 12,000 seat "gym" compared to UK.

If Billy wants to think BIG, get exposure in
anything and everything he does, recruiting not the least of these. Then there is only ONE choice.

IF Kentucky is the school all of us THINK it to be then the decision to leave Florida and come here should be a slam dunk!.

The fact Billy has NOT said no or indicated in anyway that he is NOT interested should encourage all of us.

We should all know his answer within 48-hours.

This Cat is saying that He TAKES the job at Kentucky. When opportunity knocks smart people know when to answer the door.

Timing is everything and the time is NOW for
Billy to get the PROMOTION to the ELite School
in all of college basketball.

Billy, WELCOME BACK To Kentucky! I am counting the days til Big Blue Madness and watching to see
how many BLUE Chippers you add to our present roster. You are the PERFECT FIT for us. You are
a YOUNG PITINO, there, let me be the first one to say that!. (however I qualify that by saying Billy
has a much nicer personality and is more level headed then Mr Doublespeak.)

I have not heard any confirmation from the Administration that UK is going after him. Has anyone else seen any confirmation of this?

I would be willing to wager with you any amount you care to risk that Kentucky is GOING after Billy Donovan. Do you seriously doubt that Thomas?

If we were not going after Donavan, I think we would know who the new coach is by now.

You read this statement or some quite similar a multitude of times on TCD, all referring, of course, to UK. Due to the trendline of the last several years, I'm distraught to say, those statements are in question among those in the supposed know of the college basketball world. All the more reason that the next coach has the onerous responsibility of reversing the trend.

I think it would be improper for anyone in the UK administration to publically state they are going after Donovan while he is still coaching the Gators in the NCAA tournament.

The silence on interviews, etc. with other candidates speaks pretty loudly, IMO.

Prophet, of course your right. I didn't want to elude to the flip side of the coin that has become tarnished under the leadership that the program lacked under our former coach.

no, and you probably wouldn't hear anything made public in an official capacity until after the tourney is over.

What we are all going on now is forecast and probability. For UK to not even ask BD would be foolish on their part, so I think that's where all the scuttlebutt is coming from currently.

The original statement presupposed that UK was going after Coach Donovan. While that may be a reasonable supposition, the nature of this search (i.e. with no committee, but with a search firm) leaves all sorts of avenues open, not just a single-minded pursuit of one person.

The single minded pursuit is probably from the same folks that single mindedly wanted the Tubster gone. They got their way on that one, so let's just hope they get their way again. (I fear they will not.)

I think the single-minded pursuit comes from Donovan being the hottest coach in the nation, being a former Cat and having made statements that do not shut down the possibility of moving to UK. His statements lead fans to believe the door is open to him coming to Lexington and he is by far the most desirable candidate. I will be very interested in what happens this week.

How long should the Athletic Dept. wait after tonight to make a request to talk to BD about the job? Wed.? Thur.?

Right after he's showered.

Why not have the President of the United States ask him whenever he takes the victory call from Him???

I hear W is hacked at UK for talking to Barnes. Man, that hate is contagious.
