Porter says his son planned to take a week off after UK lost to Kansas in the NCAA Tournament before resuming his shooting workouts. Porter also told his son to make sure he didn't let his academic work slip while UK was without a coaching staff.

The article said that Carter will be a "junior"! I believe he got a medical redshirt which would make him a soph. Can anyone confirm that? tks [Frown]

Academically (and recruiting-class-wise) he is a junior, but he still has three years of eligibility left.

This is a great article. I appreciate the balanced view that Gary Porter had of Tubby. Great man; tough-skinned; players love him; coaches and parents respect him. But Porter also didn't pull any punches in regards to style: "Kentucky might get a coach that likes to run..."

The truth remains that Tubby was a good coach and a great and very likeable man. But his style of play along with his less than enthusiastic recruiting were ultimately his downfall.
