Oh. Tony Kornheiser. Now I don't feel bad about not being familiar with it.

I watched PTI and the interview was quite interesting. Tubby made it clear that he was proud of what he had accomplished and did'nt give any hint that he was leaving and that his job was secure.

Did you hear what Pitino said on Mike and Mikein the morning? By the way that is a radio talk show that ESPN radio puts on. ITs also live on ESPN2.
Pitino tried to say that if KY got rid of Tubby it would set UK back 10 to 15 years. Because all of thye Media national recruits and the like would be against UK.
Of course this is coming from a man who walked away from the KY program!!

Kornheiser asked Tubby if he felt the pressure would drive him out of Ky and Tubby said that there would be pressure wherever you go. That there is coaching pressure from the high school level on up.

But he still didn't answer the question, would it drive him out. He has become a polarizing figure among the Big Blue Nation nowadays. You either love him or you hate him. And I did catch the Pitino interview on M&M. I thought RP was just trying to give support to his friend Tubby Smith. The program has already been setback quiet a few years IMO.

I thought Tubby dodged most of the questions that were put to him. He gave an answer, but it didn't specifically reference the question.
He did get animated when Kornheiser commented that Tubby had a National Championship ring. Tubby suddenly sat forward and claimed that he also had 5 SEC championship rings as well. I just thought it was an interesting comment for him to make after he said he didn't have to defend his record at UK.
He did say he thought UK was already in the NCAA no matter what happens in the SEC tourney. I thought that was a little bold on his part but that doesn't mean he is wrong. I just wish he wouldn't have made that statement. One of those "tempting fate" things, you know...
He didn't come out and say that he thought he was on the hot seat, but he did allude to it. I think he knows he is, but didn't want to fan the flames and I can understand that.
Overall, I would have liked to hear more forthcoming answers from Tubby, but I was glad to hear him acknowledge that he is aware of the kind of scrutiny that he is under right now, and not pretending like it's no big deal.
