Box Score
This is one game I can clearly say the officiating helped the home team considerably. It is easy to see why Kansas has such a long home win streak. They shot 47 free throws to our 22, committed only 20 fouls to our 33. Had they been consistent and called the fouls the same on both ends of the floor I would have had no problem with them but they clearly took over the game and gave Kansas all the help they needed in the second half to beat us. I am a retired basketball official myself and am normally very objective when it comes to officiating and feel I am being objective when it comes to they way they called last nights game. Too much of a disparity in the fouls called for it to be a non bias officiated game.
I was truly proud of our kids, they played their hearts out and can certainly hold their heads high today. 5 just cannot beat 8 when it comes to the game of basketball unless it is a college team playing a junior high team. [ 01-31-2016, 06:05 AM: Message edited by: SCWC ]

I like everything about Briscoe except his shooting, especially free throws. Pretty sure he was 6 for 6 game before the game last night and he started 4 for 4 last night. Then things went to hell in a hand basket for him at the line and he reverted to his old ways. I don't know how you can keep him in at the end of close games but then again, I don't know how you can take him out with his other contributions. I won't say it lost the game for us (disparity in overall free throw attempts did that) but it didn't help.

Those potential 4 points Briscoe left on the free throw line really hurt late, missing the front end of a one and one and then two free throws outright could have put us over the hump. Briscoe is my favorite player on the team but it it hard to play with or without him late in close games. Like you Handy, I had thought after the last game when he went 5 for 6 and after starting off 4 for 4 last night that he had finally turned the corner but he just was not there late from the line and it really hurt.

Your right on Ray and the coachs have need to help correct his deficiencies as he isn't getting any better. His 3 point shooting numbers are horrible too.
