I think I fixed the url. I couldn't find anything wrong with what rlt had posted, but I took it out and started over, and now it works for me. Didn't before.

The way some people talk on this web page I would have to believe he is right. And it is not only about teams from this state but other states also. If UK doesn't win it I would then hope UL wins it to keep it in this state. But if neither are there to win it I would have to cheer for my home state where I lived my first 18 years. that would be Ohio which some on here state that they hate. I find it hard to really believe that people would hate another state just because they love UK. I don't hate Duke but I don't want them to win. I don't hate Laettner but I was very upset when he beat us. I just don't think there are many people on this site who really hate other teams or people like they say. They just don't want them to do better than UK.

I don't agree with the article I won't root for any other college teams. Won't do it. I don't hate UK's ex coach that now coaches for another in state team, but I sure won't root for him if he is no longer at my school.
I don't believe in calling players and fans bad names. Everyone should try to act civil. But rooting for another team? Not gonna happen!

the only other team, I root for is Auburn, and that's because my son is a sophmore there, and I have sent a boat load of money up there the past 2 years. That being said if UK is playing them I root for UK every time.

I don't like the article at all, it basically says that all die hard fans are morons. It's true, I don't enforce any rules and scored zero points this whole tournament, but I still love rooting for UK.
We all know reality and sports IS competition. Now I do not agree with all the name calling but I love the in-state rival, I love how UK-vs-UL has become larger than Duke-vs-UNC.

I will NEVER root for U of L in ANY sporting event, PERIOD! I didn't like them when I was young and growing up in Lexington. I didn't like them when I was in the Army, traveling all around the world, and I don't like them now. I don't wish any ill will, injuries, etc., I just want UK to beat them Friday.
P.S. My daughter will attend Auburn in the fall and I will NOT pull for them either. I am Big Blue all the way. No divided allegiance here.

I'm with Enterprise on this one. I refuse to watch them much less cheer for them. The biggest reason I refuse to watch them is I don't approve of the way they've taken the officiating because of their defense. They know that the officials can't call all of the fouls or they'd be there all night so away they go!
The only time I watch UL play is when they play MY BELOVED WILDCATS, or when I know they are losing and about to lose. Then I will turn it over and watch the finish!

I'll even go so far to say that I didn't watch the championship game last year because UL was playing in it! I watched John Wall light up the Indiana Pacers that night!

I feel sorry for a few on here because I came up when more games were on radio than were on TV. And I used to lay in my bedroom and listen to any of the local teams no matter who they were. I lived in Springfield, OH and the Dayton Flyers were the closest team and I listened to all their games. I remember the coach Tom blackburn and some of the players. I enjoyed hearing them play teams like L'ville with a player by the name of Charlie Tyra. I was a big fan of Ohio state when they had Jerry Lucas, Havlicek, Seigfried, etc. I even listened to home town Wittenberg College. When I got sent to Richmond KY in 1963 I got hooked on UK but that didn't stop me from following Ohio St or Dayton. I do have my favorite now which is UK but I also like to see Dayton and Ohio State do well also, except when they play UK. But I have no malice against any team except IU, Duke, UNC, Kansas & L'ville. L'ville is the only one that I don't mind them winning when they are not playing UK. But I don't want to see any of them win when they are getting close to career wins. When I was younger I would watch any basketball game no matter who was playing. Now that I am much older and just don't have the time anymore I don't watch many games other than UK. I just don't think I should hate any other team........ but it doesn't bother me to see them lose all the time.

Don't feel sorry for me.... I refuse to watch IU too! I just can't do it! There's enough ball on generally that I don't have to waste, that's right I SAID WASTE my time watching them!

I agree with Enterprise Cat. I am a Big Blue Fan...... I Love College Basketball, I rank it #1 over NFL at #2, and squirrel hunting.
I will cheer for SEC schools when they play outside the conference, I like to watch good teams with good players and good coaches.
You can also add Ohio State, and IU to the Enterprise statement too.....
