It sounds like the NBA is calling and Trey will have a decision to make.
Freshman Trey Lyles is one of probably seven Kentucky players that will have only a few weeks to decide whether to put his name into the NBA draft or return to college for a second season.
He started 21 games for Kentucky this season and averaged 8.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game while averaging 23 minutes per game. The 6-9 Lyles shot 48.8 percent from the field and 73.5 percent at the foul line. From 3-point range, he was just 4-for-29. He had 38 assists, 19 steals and 16 blocks.
He also played the small forward position more than he probably envisioned or coach John Calipari envisioned even though he also played power forward.
His high school coach, Jason Delaney, says the former Indianapolis prep start has to “make the best decision for him and his family” about his future.
