Can we get a round of applause for Rhyne Howard, the now two-time SEC Player of the Year?

Kentucky’s superstar was named the league’s best women’s basketball player for a second consecutive season, as voted on by the coaches around the SEC. Only a junior, Howard won the league’s Freshman of the Year award in 2018-19, the Player of the Year award in 2019-20 and now a repeat of the Player of the Year honors, in addition to three straight selections to the All-SEC First Team.

Howard is only the third player in UK history to earn All-SEC First-Team honors from league coaches three times, joining good company in former standouts Makayla Epps and Leslie Nichols. She is one of only two UK players to hit 1,500 career points prior to their senior season; the other is Valerie Still, the school’s all-time leading scorer.

The fun didn’t stop with Rhyne Howard. UK’s Chasity Patterson made the SEC All-Defensive Team, her second conference honor after she was named the SEC’s Sixth Woman of the Year last season.

I hope she sticks around for her senior season.

It would be great if she did stay!

I wasn't sure she'd get player of the year this year. Her numbers haven't been quite as solid as they were last year!

This is the statement that got her the award again and she is only a junior.

She is one of only two UK players to hit 1,500 career points prior to their senior season; the other is Valerie Still, the school’s all-time leading scorer.

Without Mitchell KY women's basketball will continue to go downhill! Howard should go pro while her image is still high!

The lady Cats looked bad a lot this year. I think they looked disinterested and took a lot of plays off.

Ladycats were 18-9 for the season, 11-2 at home and 9-6 in conference play.
