Great news! I’m curious about which transfer QB he will try to recruit.

The devil you know... [Smile]

I take this as good news as well. Just wish we had some weapons for him to put to use.

This is great news. Didn't I see a QB, Mertz, from Wisconsin committed to us? Don't know much about him. I also saw we got a tackle from Alabama. That could be a big help.

I think he will have weapons at the WR and TE positions with Brown/Key/Dingle unless they all put their names in the transfer portal.

They just need to find a QB and a RB. The offensive line has to get better, which I think it can get better with offensive scheme under Coen. Joe Scrangellelo was terrible at scheming to help them.

We might have to go to some sort of spread offense if we can't get a QB that can throw the long ball, and not find a credible RB to replace CRod.

Every year our offense is different -- radically so sometimes. The saga of UK football marches to the drum of its recruiting.

From what I read yesterday, Metz was recruited by Coen. Wisconsin seldom has a big passing game, maybe that's why he decided to come to KY. He'd be the second QB in a row from the Big Ten to come to KY toplay!

I do not know the real reason why he came to UK but sure glad he did,

Just saw the #3 player in the portal, QB Devin Leary committed to the Cats. That's a big get as he is supposed to be legit. I guess we'll have a QB battle.

#3 player and the number 1 qb in the Portal.

Leary was the Starter for NC St last year until he tore a pectoral muscle about midway through the season. He still finished with over 1200 yards, 11 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

Vanderbilt Running back Ray Davis has also announced he's transferring to KY today! Davis carried for 1042 yards on 232 carries averaging right at 4.5 yards per carry last season!

I have not seen anything about Metz coming to UK. Why would they take 2 QBs in the portal when they have 3 on board already.

Bama, having 3 quarterbacks may or not mean that one is ready to step up and lead our offense. What we saw from our backups last season didn't inspire much confidence. Getting a good QB from the portal may be a good move.

I am very happy to hear that the Vandy RB is coming. That and the QB gives me hope that our offense can do OK next year.

Now the Mertz kid from Wisconsin, just came in for a visit. I did read that Coen was huge in recruiting him before he went to Wisc. Not sure if he announced where he was going next year or not. This is probably the week to do it since the NLI signing day was today!

I had seen something last week that said Metz had committed, but I guess it was wrong. Saw he committed, I think, to Florida then.
