When signing day came around for the Kentucky Wildcats, Torrance Davis was oddly absent from the list of signatures that came in for Mark Stoops’ program.

Apparently, the three-star running back had some things needing to be sorted out before he was good to go. Those issues appear to be solved now, as KSR’s Matt Jones says Davis is ready to report to UK.

There’s been no definitive word as to why Davis is unable to sign, but delays like these are often caused by some type of academic holdup. Perhaps he had a test or a class he needed to pass before being given the go-ahead to sign with a school.

Davis, a three-star running back out of Cleveland (OH), committed to UK on June 7th over the likes of Cincinnati, Indiana, Michigan State and Tennessee among others. He is ranked 28th among running backs by 247 Sports in addition to being the 13th-overall player in the state of Ohio. Rivals has him listed as the 37th-best running back in the country and the 8th-best player in his state.

UK is loaded at running back with AJ Rose, Kavosiey Smoke and Christopher Rodriguez leading the Cats’ backfield. Even so, Davis is a nice addition that will ensure the Cats’ backfield depth remains strong for the foreseeable future.
