It will be interesting to see where they rank this years team especially if we win our bowl game.

4.2007 5-5 3-5 conference play, also Won Music City Bowl UK beat rival Louisville and shocked LSU in triple overtime. Both were top 10 teams, and No. 1 LSU went on to win the national title.

Won Hall of Fame Bow, No. 19 final ranking.

Won SEC, won Sugar Bowl, co-national champion, No. 7 final ranking

Recap: Bear Bryant’s team was 5-1 to win the SEC, despite a 7-0 loss at Tennessee, and was No. 7 in the country before it beat No. 1 Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl 13-7. It snapped Oklahoma’s 31-game winning streak, which at one time was seventh-longest in NCAA history.

Jeff Sagarin, 40 years later, reconstructed seasons and found that Kentucky was the top team in 1950 even though the NCAA record book said four teams could claim the 1950 title.

If UK manages to beat UL, this season will rank as one of the best ever. Just goes to show how little tradition UK has, by ignoring football all those years.

Sadly, although Stoops and his staff have improved the overall talent level, they seem to have a problem getting over the hurdle for a marquee QB.

Would 8 wins help their cause? It sure couldn't hurt.

Yes, they are running team. But, if they want to beat the big boys, they need a QB that can make big time throws to go along with the running game. As effective Stephen Johnson is as a running QB, you can see how long his passes take to get to the receivers and how the defenders get to lay the wood on them, because they are waiting on the ball to get there.

That OC needs to show the QB recruits some film of him calling plays with a strong armed QB. Not sure if Cincy had one while he was there, but I am guessing that they did. I think their QB got hurt for the bowl game and they got blown out, in his last year before coming to UK, if I remember correctly.
