The Cats could potentially be getting in the mix with a prospect in the class of 2021.

James Graham is 6-8 small-forward from Nicolet (WI.)

247Sports.com composite rankings list him as the third best player in Wisconsin and approximately a top 150 overall prospect.

Graham recently spoke with Zagsblog and provided details on his recruitment to this point, as well as a breakdown of his top nine schools.

Auburn, Maryland, Florida State, Memphis, Georgetown, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Marquette, and Vanderbilt were the schools that Graham mentioned as his top nine.

Obviously, there was no mention of Kentucky on that long list of potential landing spots.

However, Graham made it clear that he has been in contact with few blue blood programs, specifically, Kentucky and North Carolina.

“They’re both saying the same thing, They want to continue to get to know me.” Graham said.

Considering that 247Sports.com ranks him as a three-star prospect, it’s no surprise that programs like Kentucky and North Carolina are taking more of a wait and see approach.

With Graham’s size and skillset, it’s very possible that he will continue to develop and possibly pick up an offer from a school like Kentucky.

However, the current recruiting landscape will make that very hard to happen.

With the elimination of the spring/summer AAU circuit and the uncertainty surrounding high school basketball season, it will present a challenge for members of the class of 2021 like James Graham to showcase their improvements. There will undoubtedly be little to no travel this winter so coaches will have to rely on game film and word of mouth.

The Kentucky coaching staff clearly sees something that intrigues them, so Graham is worth keeping an eye on over the next several months.
