The Kentucky Wildcats brought in the No. 1 overall recruiting class for the 2020 season headlined by BJ Boston and Terrence Clarke.

Now, John Calipari and his staff will be looking to bring in their eighth No. 1 overall class in 2021.

On Wednesday, 247 Sports released their updated rankings for the 2021 class and here is where the Kentucky targets stand after the update.

Johnathan Kuminga is still the No. 1 overall player in the class, but he is expected to be joining the 2020 class and has yet to make an official announcement. So for now, the Congolese recruit remains in 2021.

Patrick Baldwin Jr. currently sits at No. 3 in the class and holds an offer from Kentucky, but Duke is viewed as the heavy favorite to land the 6-9 small forward out of Wisconsin.

Paolo Banchero is the first player listed that Kentucky is believed to have a legit shot of landing and he sits at No. 4 overall. Tennessee, Duke and Washington are also major players in the battle for the Seattle (WA) native.

Jaden Hardy comes in at No. 7 overall and he is believed to be a heavy Kentucky lean as they currently hold 100% of the Crystal Ball predictions for the Nevada product.

Peyton Watson is the first player to move in the updated rankings as he now sits at No. 8 overall. Kentucky has been in frequent contact with Watson and he has been participating in full-court runs this summer in California with BJ Boston, Terrence Clarke, and Devin Askew.

Kennedy Chandler is the lowest-ranked Kentucky target in this class so far sitting at No. 19. Chandler’s dad recently announced that a college decision should be coming this fall for the Tennessee product. Kentucky is in the mix for Chandler along with Tennessee and Duke as the top three contenders, according to experts.

As you can see, Coach Cal and his staff are once again going after some of the best talent in the class of 2021, and it will be interesting to see who emerges as the favorites to end up in Lexington and hopefully resulting in yet another No. 1 overall recruiting class.
