Don't see much interest from UK. He averaged 10 min per gm and scoed 3 pts. Not a good foul shot shooter. Rebounds 2 per gm.

I think we already have a couple guysthat are better than that and our new transfer will be better. I think Cal will wait for a better option.

He will have to sit out a year so it won't affect any games this next year.

Wow. That kid was the #12 ranked recruit and a McDonalds AA. Hard to believe he couldn't even get playing time at Nevada.

I was thinking the same thing PaulCat.

I would also have to say that you know how some kids can play better at different schools. We have had it happen when Cal couldn't get as much out of certain player and they go somewhere else and become a star. With a year to sit out and practice against the guys on UK's team you never know what he might be able to do.

MEL

I wouldn't be so sure about that. The NCAA has been granting waivers left and right so kids don't have to sit out, especially when a coach leaves.

Heck, they even just let Fields from UGA transfer to Ohio State to be the starting QB without sitting out and also let the kid that was going to be the starting QB, before Fields transferred, transfer to Miami (Fla) without sitting out.

I guess maybe I'm just forgetting but who did that?

I think Wiltjer was better at UK than he was at Gonzaga. Sure he scored more points against lesser competition, but he never had to play a lick of defense at Gonzaga and that is why he didn't get drafted.

Here is a nice recap of the transfers under Cal:

Ryan Harrow went on to have exemplary success at Georgia State, as did Wiltjer at Gonzaga. But both played weak competition. The real loss was Charles Matthews, who was a fantastic player at Michigan.

Tiptree,

Thanks. I forgot about Matthews, hard to believe I would forget about him because I always really liked what I saw from him at UK. Yep, he really excelled at Michigan at both ends of the floor.
