2019 shooting guard Dontaie Allen took an unofficial visit to Kentucky this weekend, and the in-state recruit seemed impressed by what he saw.

Allen is battling through a hip flexor injury and was unable to participate in on-court activities, but he spent a great deal of time touring facilities and meeting with coaches on Sunday.

Allen averaged 31.8 points and 11.4 rebounds in his junior season at Pendleton County High School, shooting nearly 40% from behind the three-point line. Standing at 6’6”, his scoring ability is increasing his stock with every game that he plays.

He has picked up scholarship offers from Purdue, Nevada, WKU, Xavier, West Virginia, and Virginia Tech. Most of those offers have come since his high school season ended, showing that his three-star rating will likely that hold for long. Kentucky has yet to offer a scholarship, as John Calipari has not been able to fully evaluate Allen.
