Zion Williamson announced he has chosen Saturday, January 20th as the date he will announce where he will continue playing basketball.

Clemson still seems to be in the lead to land the big man but as we have all seen, Cal can work miracles at the 12th hour. Here's hoping he is headed to Lexington.

I sure thought we had him several months ago but now I think it is a long shot, unless it happens like Kevin Knox. I haven't heard anything lately like we were hearing about Quickly calling him all the time. He may be doing it but nobody is talking about Quickley being in his ear since school started. Cal may be done recruiting and don't know it yet. [Confused]

If Cal gets him he is one heck of a recruiter and wouldn't count us out.

If we get him it will be mostly due to Quickley's persuasion.

I am hoping it's going to be another Knox situation. They are all wrong and I'm right.

"""Pretty much every recruiting analyst in the country is predicting that five-star basketball prospect Zion Williamson will commit to Clemson when he makes his college announcement Saturday.

ESPN national recruiting analyst Paul Biancardi had a different pick Monday, predicting during the network’s coverage of the Hoophall Classic that Williamson would choose South Carolina.

“I think it’s a closer race between Clemson and South Carolina than most people think,” Biancardi said. “It’s going to be one of those two schools. I’m picking South Carolina. I’m going for the upset.”

Williamson — a 6-foot-6 forward from Spartanburg, S.C. — is the No. 3 overall prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings for the class of 2018 and the only remaining uncommitted player in that group with a Kentucky scholarship offer.

His finalists are UK, Clemson, Duke, Kansas, North Carolina and South Carolina."""

He is announcing his school of choice 15 minutes before the tip off of the Kentucky/Florida game this Saturday the 20th.

Could it have something to do with his selection? Could this be another one where the gurus are stumped? Probably not. Watching him play high school ball I am not that thrilled with his play. Because of his thunderous dunks he may be over publicized.

I don't think it will make any difference into UK's strength for next yearif we don't get him. We'll have plenty of big guys returning which will probably cause him to go elsewhere. Announcing it 15 minutes before our game must have been planned for some reason. Could it be for Quickley's benefit? Nobody knows but that could be the reason. We'll have to wait and see what he says. Myself, I have to go along with the group and say Clemson just like Trey Young did at OK. But if it's not I like UK as my second choice.

I've only watched him a few times, but I think he is terrific. Mainly because he is a terrific teammate and he plays hard. I think he is a very underrated passer. They also say that he is a very humble and gracious kid, not surprised since you can see that transpired onto the court.

I think he goes to Clemson or North Carolina, but I would love to have him at UK.
