The Kentucky football staff has found a quarterback for its 2019 recruiting class.

Three-star Florida prep quarterback Nik Scalzo committed to UK Monday over reported offers from Illinois, Tulane, Akron, Buffalo, Cornell, Kent State and others. He announced the commitment via his personal Twitter account.

He is the 5th player to commit in the 2019 class.

"Stealing" a QB from Illinois, Kent State, Buffalo, et al isn't very much to crow about. When we start "stealing" quality players from Bama, Georgia, Michigan, and Notre Dame, wake me up.

From what I have read, Scalzo is not some run of the mill ho hum recruit. Teams will make a hard run for him. He is a big time play maker with a quick release and accurate arm.

Stoops' staff has not had a lot of luck, since they have been here with QBs. Part of it may be that they have had 3 diff OCs during his tenure here.

When we start beating or, at least, competing with teams like Bama, Georgia, Michigan and Notre Dame on a regular basis the "stealing" will come.
