Remember last year when I kept questioning why he was not playing especially over Toppin?

So far this year at Providence:

16 PPG,
53.3% from the Field
77.8% from the Free Throw Line
50% from 3PT land
8.4 Rebounds per Game
1.8 Assist per Game

Cal can’t often see the forest for the trees. Remember Hopkins had the huge game against LSU and I think it was the very next game Cal commented, “I should have played him more, but kind of forgot he was on the bench”

After St. Peter’s game someone asked about Hopkins not playing and Cal said it would not have been fair to him to put him in that pressure situation.

You just can’t make this stuff up.

Cal makes the game hard for me to watch. Somehow he stole my joy.

I saw those stats too. I hated seeing him leave as I thought he was going to be huge for us, if Cal would play him. I never understood Bryce having that game against LSU and then barely seeing the floor again. Cal always says prove you belong on the court, or play so he has to play you. What else could the kid do. I think he'll continue to have a great year. When he left I said I thought he would end up being like Juzang as far as blossoming once he got away from Cal. Good for him.

Cals done the same thing to me. I just can't stand to watch him coach these talented kids and waste it. Imagine what this group would do with a coach who knew how to design an offense around his players. They truly would be a top team and one to watch out for. But sadly, that's not the case.

I'm like the grinch I have no joy in my heart for Kentucky basketball and it's all because cal stole it.

All I have to do, in order to appreciate Cal, is remember Billy Clyde.

I just wish Tubby had the talent Cal has had - we would have won more than 1 title.

I think only 1 stud on his title team whereas Cal EACH yr has the talent just cant coach.

It blows my mind that we have zero oob scoring plays under our basket!

I had several on my h.s. team and we scored against much better teams.

Cal cant try something instead of throwing it to a big guy and then running that crappy offense?

blows my mine a coach making 9 million coaches cant even runs plays like a high school team at a bad h.s. mind u

Of all of Cal's faults, the way he decides his rotation mystifies me the most. Bryce is a poster child for his inexplicable ways. But there have been more over the years.

It is almost as if he forms a 'clique' of his favorite players, and he forgets about everybody else. And that 'clique' is not necessarily based upon contribution or skill. Not sure how to explain it otherwise. One question that always arrises in my mind is why don't the assistant coaches speak up? Are they too afraid?

A better offensive scheme, especially one with more flexibility to design plays to take advantage of the players he has, and a sensible rotation would make us a lot better off.

If you notice our assistants are rarely up off the bench, and rarely say anything. When I see other games the assistants are often standing up at times talking to player, and I see them conversing with the coach. I think Cal is a dictator and takes no advice from anyone. Not even any of us.

Ah ha! Now you have hit all the nails on the head! Maybe he needs to be dropped on his head and that would wake him up to newer and better ways to coach?? [Confused] Doubt it.
