A varsity player for Lyon County since the seventh grade, Perry has already totaled 3,190 points in his career. With two seasons of Kentucky high school basketball left, Perry is on pace to shatter Kelly "King" Coleman's state record for career points (4,337), which has stood since Coleman finished his career at Wayland High School in 1956.

This is of particular interest to me as he plays for the adjacent county where I went to school. I believe Lyon County is very close to Dawson Springs, where Norm lives. I have several friends in Western Kentucky who have seen him play and say he is the real deal.

Lyon County High is in Eddyville, KY at the intersection of I-254 and I-69. It is about a 30 minute drive from downtown Dawson Springs.

Wow. If Reed and Perry both show up too, we will have one hell of a backcourt.

I doubt Perry comes, though. He will go somewhere he can be the star.

............and with Dillingham already committed at PG that would mean 3 guards plus any carry overs from the previous class. And don't forget Duane Wagner who is deciding between UK and Louiv. Could be a great guard class.

I believe both Sheppard and Dillingham are class of 23 and Perry is class of 24. I think both of his parents are UK graduates. If this is correct, I would think we would be the front runner in what could be a long list of recruiters.

Plus, I suspect NIL $’s might be greater for him in state than other places.

For sure Sheppard's dad was a UK graduate. He was a guard (1993–1998), he played on two national championship teams at the University of Kentucky under Rick Pitino in 1996 and under Tubby Smith in 1998.

You can't say that Cal isn't working the guard position hard for '23 and '24. I believe wheeler could actually come back for another year after this one due to the Covid. That is if he wants to.....maybe for the NIL? He may not be draftable due to his size.
