Gone: Mintz, Grady, Wheeler

Probably gone: Oscar, Tyty

Should transfer: Allen, Hopkins

Should be back: Brookes, Toppin, Collins, Ware, Fredrick

Incoming: Wallace (G), Livingston (F)

Translation: Not looking good for next year. [Frown]

Where's Wheeler going? He's only a junior. He's not going to get a sniff from the NBA.

Good catch, MH. I was thinking he was a grad-transfer.

Yeah! Here's the real story. Mintz and Grady, gone, graduated, last possible year.

Those either coming back for more misery or going in the transfer portal:

Washington, Collins, Hopkins, Allen, Ware, Brooks and Toppin.

Those most likely coming back because they have no where else to go:

Wheeler, Frederick and Brooks.

Man with a choice? Probably not. Oscar. What more can he accomplish. If he is deprived of the National Player of the Year because UK couldn't beat a #15 seed, shame on them. This would give him an excuse to come back and slaughter the competition for a second year.

Freshmen coming in: To start with we have a pretty decent list, if they prove their ranking is justified???

#1 Shaedon Sharpe
#6 Chris Livingston
#7 Cason Wallace

and you never know, Skyy may reconsider.

The cupboard ain't bare by a long shot.

What we have to worry about is Cal's judgement of the players.

We have seen 3 years of Brooks. Oh well
We have seen 2 years of Ware. Oh well again.
We have yet to see Frederick. Will he pan out?

If Oscar leaves will what we have as big men do much for us???

Many questions, but there are plenty of names. And that is what they are at this point in time.....just names. We got a large dose of that this year. I would hope things get better, much better next year. But of course I am old enough to have seen the teams of 1978, 1996 and 2012. I am definitely spoiled.

If I had to bet, i'd say Sharpe is going to the NBA. Some of the prominent sites have him drafted in the lottery.

Right now we have two guaranteed freshman coming in, and what has history told us about freshman? Well, they're freshman. I will never again get my hopes up about one of these 5-star all-world freshman that turn out to be overhyped and want nothing more than to be in the NBA.

Our only hope for next year is if Oscar returns, which I seriously doubt he does. In his own words, "I wanted to be a one and done..." <link> I would have to bet that he's gone.

I would agree that the cupboard isn't bare if Calipari wasn't the coach. He's gonna bring in freshman and transfers and they'll be his darlings. And no matter how bad they play, they'll be the ones we'll be counting on to make for a great season. And it'll most likely end up just like this year or last year.

It's been eleven days shy of three years since UK's last NCAA tournament victory (3/29/2019). For me, the excitement is all but gone.
