The more I thought about the question, the harder it became for me to answer. Calipari obviously has had the higher ranked recruiting classes — but shouldn’t he considering the magnitude and tradition of Kentucky basketball. Yet what Marrow has helped the football program do during his time as recruiting coordinator is unprecedented. He’s bringing in big-time talent consistently that few ever thought UK football could and has helped make UK football a national brand.

That is a great comparison. They are both outstanding, but of course Marrow is on a lower scale for quality recruits but his value to the football program is powerful. My only complaint I have on Marrow is he can't reel in a good 4 star QB that can take us to the next level. We had some decent ones but could do better. Hope he doesn't ever leaves.

I don't like comparing oranges to apples.

I do believe it was a very smart move to have Marrow start working the Louisville area.

As far as Cal, he doesn't go after every recruit out there. If he feels they are too selfish or have too much baggage, he doesn't offer them. Some teams take players, even when rumors are swirling that they are demanding money. It could bite them, eventually. Duke seems to have avoided ever having to pay the piper. Must be good to be on the inside with NCAA.

Cal is the best recruiter, hands down.

Morrow is an outstanding recruiter and worth his weight in gold. Kentucky is on an upward trajectory, regarding football recruiting. They will still have a better season than a lot of experts and fans think they will. That continued success is paying off on the recruiting trail.

Kentucky has as rich a basketball tradition as any school out there.

Morrow isn't recruiting for a blue blood program, like Cal is. Perception is getting much better for the program, but they don't have the clout of Alabama or Georgia in the SEC.

When Cal leaves, the program will take a huge step back and the next coach will likely get fired after two or three seasons.

Michigan already tried to steal Morrow. They saw his worth. Kudos to Barnhart and Stoops for making sure Morrow is paid enough to be happy here in Lexington.
