I can now change my attention back to the NBA games. Once UK is out I don't watch any more games. I will check the scores to see if my Squares hit, but that is all the time I waste on the college game after UK has been eliminated.

I still monitor the game but really do not watch them that much after we are out of the tournament. I never watch the NBA, have never been a fan of professional sports except golf, don't watch the NFL, Hockey, NBA or any other professional sports except the major golf tournaments.

Me either Trey - for 2 yrs we had the clear cut path to the FF. Last yr I wont talk about as we all know it. This yr never had to play better than a 5 seed and we cant win!! Something wrong.

Every team I watched had great shooters - I mean really great shooters - but we have " athletes" who cant shoot! Every year it appears..
We have 5 stars and other teams do not - i.e. shooters on Vir Pur Aub etc etc

Cal needs to find shooters even if they are slow white guys!

Cal said --“They deserved to win the game. We got out-played, got out-coached, and still had a chance to win the game.”

he is right about out played and maybe bout out coached imo

Agree.

UK had 4 plays that changed the game in regulation as well.

1. Purifoy's three from the corner that bounced high and went in. That ball never appeared to be above the rim on the initial shot but the spin of the ball kicked it high and it goes in.

2. Haggans drive and missed a clean layup

3. Johnson on the 2 on 1 fast break. Instead of going up to jam the ball home he goes up with a slow left handed layup and it gets blocked.

4. Wiley's brick from six feet that hit the back of the rim and just died in for 2.

9 points right there. I think I said when Purefoy's three went in UK was done and that was before the rest happened.

Cal has to figure out how to put a "team" together, not just athletes. Especially since he isn't getting the top 5 guys. No way we shouldn't be in thw final four. Poor play, and poor coaching. Hopefully some of these guys stick around, and ej and Richard's can replace PJ. We will be a guard heavy team next year, and hopefully they can shoot. I also hope cal reevaluates his offensive schemes and approach. Alot of wins, but not near enough championships. No way we should not have 2 Or 3. Duke, Villanova, and Uconn all have 2 championships in Cals time at UK. No one can say Cal hasn't had more talent than those teams.

This yr Coach cant even say "well we won the SEC - no "well we won the SEC tourney - no

Advancing to the elite 8 against inferior teams is not much of an accomplishment imo…

If we made it to the FF I would give him a pass but not now! Wasted season - nothing to show for it!

Missed FTs at the end of regulation really hurt too. We certainly had our chances, but couldn't score.

Free throws will win or lose you close games every time. That's 2 seasons in a row that we allowed the charity stripe to cost us a chance to advance!

...............and one of the free throw culprits for the second year in a row........noneother than PJ Washington. I know he wasn't the only one to miss free throws but he's done it two years in a row. I would guess he don't plan on giving it a chance to happen 3 years in a row. It's looking more and more like we are headed down that same road again with what we have coming in next year. But one thing we have learned, that even getting 4 of the top, top kids like Duke had doesn't assure anything.

The only thing assured from having top recruits at your program is that you will have another young team!

How many times do we squander that last chance, whether it's at the end of a half or end of a game? It seems to happen quite often. And why? I say it's because we rely on too many freshman. Coach K just found out the hard way what it's like to get the top players from high school - they end up playing like freshman. Let's see if he changes his recruiting strategy.

Calipari is gonna recruit the same way each year and coach the same way each year. He doesn't coach to the style of his players - he coaches his players to his style of play. We were lucky in 2012 to have some upperclassman to rely on in the championship game (our freshman shot 10-31 from the field in that game). It started with the Fab-5 at Michigan and is still the same today - you can't win relying on freshman.

Have to agree about the freshmen. We had experience inside but the outside was all freshmen who just didn't get the job done. So now they go to the draft where they will end up in the G league where they will improve enough to move up to the NBA.......or they will disappear into a job like us common, non-basketball players.
