Both Florida and Kansas lost home games last night to teams that were considerable underdogs. Florida lost at home to Loyola Chicago and Kansas lost in Kansas City (their second home) to Washington. The game of college basketball is truly wide open this year with any number of teams having the potential to get hot in March and win it all.

This is the second straight home loss for Florida, having been blown out by Florida State the other night. Take away their three point shot and they are just not that good.

Unfortunately, we are not that good at taking away the three point shot. At least not yet.

UK has a bunch of youngsters that will get time to grow up a bit, before they play Florida. They should improve by leaps and bounds, because they have high skill sets. They have a huge upside, because they are so young. They barely got beat by Kansas on a neutral floor.

Florida can't produce an inside game, overnight. They will live and die by the three.

I'm no college basketball expert, but it would seem to me that those that anointed Florida the team to beat, may have rushed to judgement, too early in the season.

There is no in between with Florida - they are either on and will blow you out or they are off and they will likely lose. In their defense, they didn't have their big man last night, which affected their inside.

As for Kansas, I think they have been overrated since the beginning of the year. Hell, the Cats technically should have beat them. It is still early and these types of losses don't hurt all that much.

..............and I am still not concerned about this team. We may have to win some close ones for a while yet but when "they all get it" we will be fine. I am still sticking with my 26-4 record and only 3 losses in conference. We are deep and have too many guys who could go off on a given night that it will be hard to stop us.

I think Texas A&M will be our toughest competetion within the SEC. They are a pretty good team with great front court size and good guard play. Of course Billy Kennedy can always be out coached. Tennessee have also looked pretty good during the three games I have seen them play.
