Liam Coen was hired to fix the Kentucky offense. To do that, the program must find a quarterback.

In the class of 2022, the Wildcats were unable to close on top-100 prospect Gavin Wimsatt and the Owensboro, Ky., native will head to Rutgers next season. Kentucky rebounded quickly to land athlete Destin Wade out of Metro Nashville. However, Coen is still looking for his first big recruiting splash.

With the class of 2023, Kentucky has been unable to get quarterbacks with offers on campus for a proper evaluation. That will all change next week when both Chris Parson and Brock Glenn head to Lexington for the day camp.

Most all recruiting classes start with a quarterback prospect first. Kentucky must figure which players the staff wants to focus on when it comes to going all-in on recruiting as the season progresses. This is a position that usually commits pretty early and is not followed with many decommitments as opposed to other spots.

Wednesday will serve as a big moment for Kentucky’s 2023 recruiting class.
