Topic: UK defense getting more and more confident

Going into the season the obvious scenario for Kentucky football was that the offense would have to carry the defense.
Kentucky lost 2019 national defensive player of the year Josh Allen to the NFL along with its top five players from the secondary along with three-year starter Jordan Jones at linebacker.
No way the UK defense could be as good, could it? Well, the defense has not always been great, but recently it has been really good and UK needed that with the lack of consistent offense it has had since starting quarterback Terry Wilson went down with a season-ending knee injury in game two.
The defense combined with almost 500 yards rushing from receiver turned quarterback Lynn Bowden in the last three has produced two wins to get UK to 4-4 with four games left.
What’s been the change from the first of year to now?
“That’s a great question and observation,” Kentucky coach Mark Stoops said after UK’s win over Missouri. “I think you have to credit Coach (Brad) White and the defensive coaches. They’ve done a really good job.
“And our players. I’m just proud of them. Again, it starts with playing exceptionally hard. You got to play hard and you got to be tough throughout the week with their preparation. The games are won throughout the week.

The UT game tomorrow is a big and a victory is much needed.

The big thing we have going is that 3 of our last 4 games are at home against Tennessee, UT Martin and Louisville.

I'd like to see us win at least 3-4 in our final games!
