DE JJ Weaver (Louisville, Ky.)
JJ Weaver said last year that Louisville was his “top choice,” but that hasn’t stopped other schools, such as Kentucky, from courting the 6-foot-6, 230-pound defensive end prospect. He’s one of the Wildcats’ top targets in the 2019 class.
Weaver, a 3-star prospect from Marion C. Moore School, is the sixth-ranked player in the state and is ranked 544th nationally, according to the 247Sports composite.
Weaver has taken recent unofficial visits to Kentucky and Louisville. He picked up an offer from Oregon on Friday, adding to an offer list of Kentucky, Louisville, Georgia, Purdue, Indiana, Minnesota, Miami, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati and Western Kentucky.
RB Wandale Robinson (Frankfort, Ky.)
Wandale Robinson might be the most exciting prospect in the state. The first team all-state selection rushed for 2,330 yards in his junior season. Robinson, at 5-foot-9 and 175 pounds, averaged 13.2 yards per carry.
He also caught 25 passes and could be deployed as a slot receiver. In an interview with KSTV, Robinson said Kentucky’s coaches have compared him to sophomore receiver Lynn Bowden — another versatile weapon on offense.
Duke is the favorite to land Robinson, according to the 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions, but Kentucky is carrying momentum in his recruitment. Robinson was seen at Cliff Hagan Stadium earlier this month with Marrow, Mark Stoops and wide receivers coach Michael Smith.
Robinson is the 10th-ranked Kentucky prospect and the 780th-ranked national prospect, according to the 247Sports composite. He has Power 5 offers from Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.
RB Aidan Robbins (Louisville, Ky.)
Aidan Robbins ranks one spot behind Robinson, as the 11th-ranked Kentucky prospect in the 2019 class. Marrow, as is the case with Weaver and Robinson, is the lead recruiter for Robbins.
Robbins, at 6-foot-3 and 225 pounds, is the 62nd-ranked running back in the class, according to the 247Sports composite. Running back will be a position of need for the Wildcats with Sihiem King set to graduate after the season and Benny Snell as a potential candidate to leave early for the NFL draft.
Robbins holds Power 5 offers from Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Missouri, Ole Miss, Purdue, South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
